【作品ストーリー】「晴々とした 自然も人間も」 戦争、疫病、災害など、人々の心の中の不安や痛みはなかなか取り除かれない。これは、自分も人も世の中も、こうあってほしいという願いの作でもある。 言葉は種田山頭火の日記から抜粋してきたもの。山頭火自身は日常の何気ないワンシーンをこのように表現したので、私のように願いの意を込めるのは作者の意図に反しているのかもしれないが、この文字数で真っ直ぐ、優しく、とても晴れやかに人に情景を想像させてくるのが堪らず作品にした。落ち着いた色味のパネルが金色の本紙を引き立たせていて、晴々というワードとマッチしたかなと思う。
“Bright ancd clear, nature and mankind alike.”
Wars, epidemics, disasters, etc., do not easily remove the anxiety and pain from people's hearts. This is also an artwork of wishful thinking that I want myself, others, and the world to be like this.
The words are taken from the diary of Santoka Taneda. Since Santoka himself described an ordinary scene in his daily life in this way, it may be against the artist's intention to include a wish as I did, but I could not resist the way this number of words made people imagine the scene straight, gently, and very cheerful, so I made it into a work. I think that the subdued color of the panel complements the gold-colored paper and matches the word "bright and clear.
The color tone for this work was ordered as charcoal gray, not black or gray. The coloring was inspired by the glittering paper of the "Heikenokyo", one of the ancient Japanese decorative sutras, and the coloring was a subtle nuance of the communication. However, we were able to reach a common understanding that the paper and panel should be a good match for each other, elegant, and complementing each other rather than asserting each other.

【作品のポイント】今作の色味は、黒でもグレーでもなくチャコールグレーとオーダーした。これは古代日本の装飾経のひとつである「平家納経」の煌びやかな料紙からイメージを得た色味で、微妙なニュアンスでのやり取りになったが、本紙とパネルがお互いがに良い相性で、品があり、主張し合うより引き立て合うように、という意識が共有でき、心から納得のいくお仕立てをしてもらった。 書だけ ではなくて、こうして一緒に作品に携わってくれる人達の仕事についても皆様へお伝えしていきたい。
